How to Watch Anime for Free Online

watch anime for free

Alright so, you’ve already figured out How to Find a New Anime to Watch, but you don’t want to purchase the DVD or spend money on it.. That’s fine. There are legal ways to get it for free!

When considering how to watch anime for free online, you basically have four options. Those options are Netflix, Crunchyroll, YouTube, or random websites. I will give you the pros and cons of each one so you can hopefully make an informed decision!

So let’s jump right into it and talk about Netflix and Crunchyroll.

But wait.. don’t you have to pay for Crunchyroll and Netflix subscriptions?

Yes but not really… I will give you some tips and tricks below to help you do it completely for free!

Netflix is a service that gives you access to all kinds of anime, television shows, and movies. This is my favorite

method because the quality is always great and it’s incredibly convenient. You can watch Netflix through a browser, on apps for androids/iPhones, apps for tablets, or on PlayStation and Xbox. They have a really large database (not all of it is anime) and it is regularly updated. You won’t find brand new releases on here, but

almost everything that is popular will be on Netflix. Lastly, most of the anime on Netflix is English dubbed.

The trick to using it for free comes with the offer I have below. Clicking my link will get you an extended free trial (30 days) and you simply cancel it right after you make an account. You will still have your free month and don’t have to worry about forgetting and being billed.

Start your Netflix FREE trial today!

Once your 30 month runs out, simply use my link again and create another account using a different credit card. You can do this an unlimited number of times and keep watching for free.

If you ever want to stay subscribed instead, it’s only $8 a month.

Crunchyroll is another service just like Netflix; only it’s focused completely on anime. The anime selection is a

little bigger, but you won’t get the other benefits of Netflix.  It’s not quite as convenient as either, because you need to watch it through a web browser or less user-friendly apps. Lastly, most of the anime on Crunchyroll is English subbed.

Simply follow my link for an extended trial offer (30 days), and cancel it afterwards.

A lot of anime can be found by searching through YouTube; however it can be a pain in the ass. YouTube is riddled with ads, and it’s usually difficult to find good quality anime. On top of that, a lot of anime is uploaded in non-English languages, adding to the difficulty of finding what you want.

I don’t recommend YouTube for anime (it’s really great for other stuff), but I’m saying it’s an option that does exist.

Random Websitescaution

This is my least recommended method. Anime can be found quite easily by searching through Google, but A LOT of these websites have malware and spyware on them. Visiting them can potentially infect your computer/phone and you could have important data stolen from you, or a broken device!

Also, these websites are always doing it illegally. If you really love anime, you should definitely support the creators by purchasing the DVDs or subscribing to a service (even free trials support the creators). Supporting them will ensure that we have lots of great anime coming to us in the future.

My Preference

Personally I use both Netflix and Crunchyroll to watch anime for free. More often than not I watch new anime on Crunchyroll, and I use Netflix for anime that is a little bit older.

I hope this post helped you find a good way to watch anime online for free!
